Rain = Slipping belt?

I had three days of going home in the rain and now either belt or clutch is slipping because the engine will rev up but there is hardly any forward motion.

Has this happened to anyone else out there? Any ideas?

I have a new belt and transmission gasket on order.

It sounds like you have diagnosed this problem correctly. If this is a Spree, did you order the stock Honda belt or did you order an SAE belt, 1/2" X 24" for the cheap speed upgrade?

Take the belt cover off and see if there is moisture in there. Make sure everything is dry in there before you replace the belt.

Greetings:

Water won't do much for long at those temps. A leaking Tranny oil seal (or, God forbid crank seal) is another matter.

I ordered the belt and gasket before this problem came up. I needed to change it out anyhow. I'll let you guys know what I find.
