has anybody taken a spree shock apart? does it come apart? what im tring to do is take the botton mount off(the part the bolts to the case) and weld it to another shock that came from a POS motor cycle that i have. clearance wont be an issue. and its adjustable tension.
and for the +1
who here has underglo on there scoot? what type did you use and where is it mounted? thanks for the help.

i've had the elite/05 type shocks apart and the spree version looks to be similar.the coils are so close together that compression
of the spring may prove bothersome.
but basically you need to compress the spring enough to get a pair of keen-nosed vise grips in there onto the shaft and hold it so you
un-thread it from the lower mount.

you can make do with two screwdrivers, preferably longer ones and arrange them handle to tip and slide the pair 'tween the spring coils
and squeeqe/ push down against the floor .
it works a LOT better with a helper ...
one to compress and one to grab/ separate the spring from the base.squirt some penetrant onto the threads first...

like i said- the Spree spring is wound pretty tight. good luck.
