FLAT TIRE

Post by martynkim »

So I went for a ride today after putting on my new tires last week. :) I took off and noticed after a bit things felt funny. Went to where I was going and came back out a behold a flat. So there's a gas station across the street no biggie, well after paying $1 for air I discover I can't get the nozzle on my valve. Tried every angle bloodied my knuckles and still no air. So, I call the wife to bring the truck. She shows up 20 mins later in her Kia CAR! :*: Okay, flustrated I climb into the car leaving my beloved scoot behind. Rush home get the truck and retrive the scoot THANK GOD IT WAS THERE! :nervous: Anyone run into this problem of refilling air into tires? I recall seeing rubber valve extensions with a turn on them before but, I don't know where to find them. Any other ideas? Oh yeah anyone know a resource for good cheap tubes?

Okay, where do I find tubes with 90 degree angles? My scoot is purely recreational, I would never carry a pump.

There is a third option. Put Slime in your tires and unless you whack an 1" long hole in the tire it won't leak, even with a nail in it. I don't wanna hear about how the stuff gums up everything either. The stuff is water soluble, just hose it out when you change tires.

That stuff works I never tried it. would it seal a hole up now that it's flat? I got it home and pumped it up with my non retarded tire chuck and it is holding air (small leak) It's been an hour and still has some air. Likely 15-20 psi

when i got my aero, it came with angled stem tubes. they were horrible to get off, and i couldn't find any way in * to re-install them. but then again, straight stems are a nightmare to pump air into. what a dilema.

No, Slime is liquid when you put it in, then you air up the tire and ride around for 5 to 10 minutes. This spreads the Slime all around the inside of the tire evenly. Balance is unaffected. My quad which runs well over 50 mph has no balance problems with Slime in all the tires.
