Trail Tech Vapor CHT problem

Post by da808nanospeed »

got my Vapor install for couple weeks, works out fine, but I notice my cht always fluctuate when i was riding my scooter. the temp goes from 330 then drop to 230 then come back up, then eventually it quit and display no temp. I have to press the reset button then the temp will show again. did anyone encounter this problem with the vapor?

Sounds like you have a faulty unit. Call Trail Tech's customer service and ask them is your best better.

so you have it hooked up where when you turn on the key,the back light comes on? try taking the battery out of the gauge and put it back in.I have 2 of those gauges and haven't had any issues like you guys are having nd I had my gauges for over 2 years. double check all your wire hook ups. double check the ground wire hookup too.

I have also had this same problem with the Vapor. Sporadic Temp sensor readings. Called Trail Tech yesterday told me to do a couple things, found out that the extension wire has a bad connection. They sent me out a new one after I got off the phone with them.. For a $100+ item there customer service is awesome willing to sit on the phone with you while you check measurements and test. I will be buying another one from them when it comes time.
