Cleaning grime and dirt etc with STEAM!

Post by ryanmcfinney »

Anyone ever done this on their scooter? Like the way you clean car engines ya know? Would anything get messed up?
Any other ideas how to do a VERY good cleaning of everything?

I have heard it said that it is not a good idea to steam a motorcycle. Gunk and some good old elbow grease works for me.

I used good ol' Gunk spray engine cleaner, let it soak and hose it off. Make sure your intake is attached and cover your airbox, otherwise you'll fill the crankcase with water.

Gunk sounds good... I had her on her side and leaked oil all over and was looking for a quick fix. How much Gunk do you think it will take to clean the whole thing?

buy one can and it will be plenty, there big cans. and you might want to consider using and old tooth brush or something like that to get in between narrow spots if you want to make it look a little nicer... your choice though
