Electrical problem (Updated)

Post by e-Pirate »

So the brake light issue is fixed, thanks to Bear's tip. (Handlebar switches)

But I'm still stuck on the headlight...

Ok, directly from the stator, I can run the headlights from white wire to ground, and it works. But Yellow wire to ground it doesnt.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but white goes to the regulator for the DC power, and yellow to the headlights/dashboard/bystarter?

Also, I took apart the whole right side down to the stator, everything looks ok, and I'm reading continuity from yellow to white to ground, and it appears the yellow wire actually is routed to ground as a part of the stator (When it's mounted). So does this all sound normal? Mebe the regulator? Whatcha think?

Ok I put it all back together, and started it up.

Then I disconnected the yellow and white wires from the stator, and connected them backwards to the harness, white to yellow/yellow to white. And the dashboard lit up. So new stator?
