Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

Sorry if this is a stupid question but IÔÇÖve just bought a Honda NT 50 f moped!
(1985 a mini melody)

I think itÔÇÖs what you call an elite in America but I am not sure

IÔÇÖve just asked Honda in the UK for a drive belt and they say delivery time will be the end of December?? :S

Is there anything else that might fit of another mini moped??

Check on the back of the tranny cover near the drain bolt and see what the engine code is. That will help to see if we have scooters in the US with the same code.

The Melody name was affixed to a scooter similar to our U.S. Spree and/or SB50 Elite "E" models. Look for an unvariated engine - fixed ratio belt - bearing the code AF05E on the transmission rear cover. If so, make sure you don't have the much-lusted-after variated version of the Spree/Pal engine. If you have a fixed-drive front pulley, any Spree or SB50 belt should work, and they're common and easy to find.

You could take the belt off and have your local auto-parts store compare with their stock.

IÔÇÖm having a bit of trouble with the little beast at the minute

The clutch is slipping badly when your 1st ride the bike and my kick start has now broken and thereÔÇÖs no electric start on this model

I think itÔÇÖs the half circle gear thatÔÇÖs knackered; it looks pretty chewed up to me. Lol

Also can you confirm the make model that I have by the pics that IÔÇÖve put up please!

Over in the UK none of the model numbers match up, or it could just be me being dumb

it looks like the honda eve/smile parts should interchange with spree if iirc.

IÔÇÖm going to go measure up a possible engine conversion it should be good fun having a bit extra power with reliability

Has anybody done it before??? Or know any reason why it wouldnÔÇÖt work on my Honda mini melody?? Mounting points, wiring, line up and so on

Any one on this forum got a Lead 80 (aero 80) ???
