new drive belt

Post by bartle90 »

I have a 98 SA50P and my drive belt broke. The part number is 23100-GG2-7500 HONDA-BANDO. The problem is I cannot find this belt anywhere. Is it the same as the 23100-GG2-751? I bought it already modded, so I do not know if the stock belt will work or not...
Thanks

Greetings:

Unless converted to a larger ZX rear pulley, ALL Aeros, SE50s and SA50s use the same exact belt. The most current 2001 part number was 23100-GG2-751, but they all should be 15.5mm wide by 641 long (Measured by some inscrutable Asian Belt Guy Math... actual tape-measure length might be 651mm) and have an angle of 30 degrees, hence 641 x 15.5 x 30. The part numbers change whenever Honda chooses a different supplier, or the supplier makes some change to the composition, for example. However they all interchange.

How do I know if it was converted to a larger ZX rear pulley?

Greetings:

The conversion uses an 18mm belt. (654 or 669 x 18 x 30). Also the rear ZX pulley requires the belt cavity bolt tunnels to be clearanced and the pulley skims the crankcase very closely. If you can't get a fingernail between the pulley and the lip of the belt cavity, it's a ZX. Sorry I don't have the actual pulley diameter handy, but not many conversions are done to mildly-modded scooters.

The part number for a '93 Elite was 23100-GZ5-013)

Y'know Honda still can get these belts, or you can punch in the numbers 641 x 15.5 x30 on eBay and find 'em.
