Help New Rings Not Working

I just put brand new rings and gaskets on my 84 honda spree and the compression is still about 100 and it dont run like it should? i put the silvery looking ring on top and the black one on the bottum like i was told.. Really need some help

open the throttle all the way while testing compression.

Did you measure your bore to make sure it is within spec for the size of piston and rings you are using?

Doesn't matter, the engine will run at 100 PSI if everything else is right.

did everything i could the only thing that still could the problem if the reeds are bad..

Did you hone the cylinder before installing the new rings?

Did you put the tiny markings on the rings facing up?

Check the reeds. I had low compression and found a chunk of air filter holding a reed open.

The reeds look fine to me, dont look worn at all. a did not pay any attention to the tiny markings on the rings. What do they look like? and yes i did hone it myself.

Maybe a dot or a letter and usually close to the rings gap. When i had my 87 elite i put the rings in, no start, chevyguyjay questioned me about the marks, i found the tiny marks where facing down, flipped rings and everything was good after that.

Yes, those marks are important. I have never been able to fully install them into the cylinder with them upside down, props for your skill.

I can't remember if it was 1 or 2 rings upside down but at least 1 of them was.

Yes i looked at the rings and they had the letter T on them. im geussing for top.
