had to put hand on carb as a choke

I had my carb apart to clean it.It was running fine .Would not start back up.Put my hand on carb then it started.It's been sitting for a couple of days wouldn't start again put hand on carb now good to go any advice?

are you useing the airbox? if not you should be

If this is a Spree, it is not uncommon for them to not start with no air box.

I took the tube off and choke it out put it back on and it ran great.

Make sure your pilot/idle jet is clear. The little tube that sticks down into the bowl that is next to the main jet.

I'd recommend cleaning the entire carb one more time, paying special attention to that small and very easily clogged jet. If carb cleaner can spray though it from the bottom and mist nicely out the top then its clear.
