you have to unsolder the bulb from the back of the light housing itself. If you have access to a 4 wheeler headlight you can cut the metal bracket off hte back and jb weld it to the spree light assembly and cut and splice the wires. Otherwise you have to buy the whole thing :D

Check the voltage coming off of your stator before you make a solid call on the bulb being bad.

I don't know about the sprees, but he aero has two separate coils that make up the stator.

One for ignition, and one for lights.

If this is the case, your scoot would run just fine, but your lights wouldn't work, and your battery wouldn't be charging.

Service manuals can be found here......http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=11

The manual will instruct you on how to test your voltage and how to disassemble your headlight housing.

Headlight ONLY works when the engine is running. It also uses AC from the stator, NOT 12 volts DC.

You can not unsolder the bulb. The whole thing needs replaced. (if it is bad)

Do your dashlights work?

the dash lights work off of the same AC voltage as the headlight.

I beg to differ Trafficjamz, a small propane torch will melt the solder around hte bulb then you have to break it out. I had to do this with my c70 passport. I took a recon 250 headlight and cut the modern bulb mount etc and spliced it into the wiring and welded the mount to the back of the light housing.

Well yes....if you destroy the bulb and fabricate a way to hold a smaller bulb, you can use it as a new bulb holder.

:D You said you couldnt unsolder it. Modifying the old housing to accept replaceable bulbs is lot smarter and cheaper than buying some old headlight that may or may not work for long.

Why not find out if the headlight is actually bad before discussing removal?

I have never seen any one unsolder it.

I tried.....I had to cut it.

:D my headlight is blown for sure and the glass is broken on this Spree I got for my swap so I will find out if it can be unsoldered tomorrow WITH pics. I examined it the other day and it looks just like the c70 I did but I may be wrong. How much you wanna bet andys bulb is blown Bear? :P all he has to do is unhook the headlight and put a multimeter to it, if it works then I concede to those more versed in honda lore than I
