reed valves or bad seals ???

Post by swimmingfree »

OK its still spree acts like timing off
took off the manifold and bolted the read valves to the case role over the moter with the starter and watch the reed valves.
they don't move munch (less then 1/23 ) witch made me think if they are not letting anuff of a mix it wood ack like the timeing was off and not enuff power to keep running..
i did find a lot of oil in there as well witch may of glued them down or is it becase of bad seals and how cood i test them

thank

You will get it figured out I'm sure, its hard to diagnose a problem over the internet lol I am still thinking it has something to do with that pipe and your bystarter

At cranking speeds, the reeds move very little. This is a very small motor. It isn't your reeds.

Its Alive
did a compression test today got 120 which is 20 over what i started with so i change the head to one that had a bigger pocket and tested it again and got 94 ..
it started so i think that my tester is off so what i think was going on is that the spark was too weak for the compression to get the thing to start. Let it run for just a minute then had to turn it off, got too excited to do any more than just hearing it start.
i cant do much right now just too happy

thanks for all the help
