Quick question on a Regulator for 83' aero 50...

Post by BillMckraken »

hello,

I tested the regulator on my 83' Aero 50. No resistance on the charging side (w,r), so I need a new one.

i was curious if this one would work?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-NB ... vi-content

It shows that it fits a NB50M engine, but only shows 85 Aero.

I didn't know if they changed the alternator or wiring?

Thank you
Bill

I am unsure whether it fits or not, but 350290657022 shows a use one fitting 83-87. It doesn't look significantly different from the one in my 83.

Are you sure you checked in the right direction? Manual notes that resisance will only be shown in one direction. Also, the manual displays for a positive ground ohmeter. Results are reversed if using a negative ground.

Honda says no.

The 1983 and '84 are the same along with,

1984 Aero 125,

1983 - '84 Aero 80,

1984 Gyro and the

1982 - '83 Urban Express Deluxe.

Thank you for the replies!

@ mbilderb I did note the polarity in the manual and checked both ways. The other side does test fine.

I had hoped it wasn't bad. Good reason why the battery is dead and won't charge though

So, Bear.
Am I understanding correctly that the Aero 80 regulator would work?

If so, fightingplankton, I'll definitely take one :).

Thank you very much for your help

The 1983 and 1984 Aero 80 works, the 1985 Aero 80 does not.
