Also cleaned the carb and put a new plug in. I gasped the plug at .025 I have spark fuel and plenty air since so filter. It's turns over pops a couple times and that's it. It backfired one time. Is there ne thoughts where I can start. The spark looks ok but Idk how strong its to be..... thanks for ne help

It will run like s*** or it may not run at all without a filter. Nothing is really difficult about these bikes except the tuning which I have plenty more to learn.

the spree is very picky about its air intake. most report that after switching to an aftermarket filter, they go back to stock, honda knows what he's doing when he builds a bike.

Well I ordered a filter to b here in a wk. I hope its right cause I don't have one now so I have no idea what it looks like. If the air filter won't let it fire what's next does ne one know the fact settings for the carb? It sounds like it wants to take off but just can't do it

We just got our aero 50 to run - it didnt have the air filter on either. I had to put my hand over the opening where it was supposed to go and then kick start it. Try taking the exhaust off and see what it does when you start it. Took ours off cleaned it out, changed the head gasket and cleaned the carburetor up and now its running pretty well - its a good start.

Well here's a update. Cleaned carb twice. Once with air and once with carb cleaner. Put new plug in, cleaned out gas tank filled it with 89 checked and its diff getting fuel and spark. Waiting for filter to get here. I took off exhaust and held hand over carb air inlet and it pops but dpsent want to take off. I can plug the exhaust port with my finger and can feel it pressing but it dose not blow my finger off. The air screw is turned out 1 n a quarter turn and idle the same..... so what's next guys

If still no filter try placing hand over hole for air inlet. Adjust hand to allow some air in and give a little gas. Kind of hard to explain but sounds like sucking to much air to start

wait on that filter before you do anything else.
if you still cant get it started, get a compression gauge, very handy tool.

Yeah, when you cover the carb with your hand you want to let in air to see how much you might need - Bear put a post about this I believe - comparing it to sucking on straws? one with fluid and one just air, too much air and you dont get enough fluid... etc. I had to have someone kick start it while I put my hand on over the inlet.
Were gonna try seafoam cleaner today... we'll let you know how it goes, maybe it would help you out? Its supposed to really clean up the inside of the engine and carburetor.

Greetings:

The drinking straw analogy in Tech Docs was mine. If nothing restricts the intake air, the Spree PA carb's Pilot is so small that the scarce vacuum can't draw enough fuel for combustion.
Aside from an oiled filter filter, methinks you might need a compression test.
