I installed a new petcock, re-installed the fuel lines, and started smelling gas. Looked down and there was gas on the fuel lines (mostly on the lower/vacuum line) Any help as to why this is happening is appreciated

Do you have some sort of clamp on the hose connections. And of course the ever present, a bad piece of hose.

Yes, I had radiator clamps/hose clamps (You know the thing with the screw). However, I was tightening those and a part of the petcock broke off of the actual petcock, and left the part in the hose. fml. Should I try and replace the petcock, or just do something to fix the new one, by like JB Welding it or something?

Those petcocks are made out of rice crispies and are fragile. I must have several nipples trying to get my hoses over them. Very brittle but what seller sent me a new petcock immediately after hearing my issues.
