hello its making a weird rattling noise while im going down the road,what do you think it could be? when i let off the throttle it stops?

hello i have a 1987 honda elite SE50 that goes 38

could some one show me a link for a rear shock that would fit my scooter with no moddifications? im looking for smoother ride when i go off road ....as well i would like some more acceleration and better take off ,its now making a weird rattling noise while im going down the road , what do you think it could be? when i let off the throttle the rattling noise stops?

you wood do better if you put it all in one post..

I just looked at the belt and its not a worn belt. What else?

it could be any number of things, could be as simple as something loose that is vibrating aghainst metal. try greasing the speedometer cable. Where does the noise come from, front or rear? does it make the sound under load or can you replicate the noise with it on the stand?

You can here it when ur rolling it around,and its from the rear.

check the center stand like evilone said and make sure there is oil in the rear trans case. btw it is not going to roll all smooth and quiet even though pushing it the clutch doesnt engage the bell housing and trans gears still move

How can I see if there is oil in the rear trans case? And if there isnt how can I put any in? And what kinda oil do I use? Please give me step by step directions on how to do this?

if you don't no how to use the book its not a big deal.. all you have to do is look for 9-1 or 9- whatever you can spell so you shooed be able to read ??? so stop asking for help and help your self
