Read the wiki about how to clean a rusty tank before I did my elite tank. did the CLR and marbles method but ended up replacing the tank (it was pretty bad to start with). So when it came to my spree tank, I did the same thing and finished off with baking soda rinse. The tank looks much worse than when i started. So read a lot of posts this morning.
Should I try the vinegar soak for hours followed by a little rattling of nuts and bolts, local car wash and then a couple of ounces of 2-stroke oil? Then put in the cap, sending unit and petcock so it's not open to the air?
Read some posts about soaking cylinders etc in vinegar. Can i soak cylinder, head, piston etc followed by a good rinse? There's a little rust at the top of the piston and cylinder. Vinegar better than a little gas/oil mixture to clean?
