trouble getting over 27 mph. help please

I have a 01 restricted elite. i drilled out the exhaust pipe, i got a bigger main jet,and i took the plate off of the variator. what else could be an issue?

Worn belt,

Dirty air filter.

yeah i opened the hole on the air box.

the rollers have slight flat spots on them. could that keep it from going as fast as it should?

what was the top speed before ???
is motor rpm the same at max speed ???

you may need to look at the belt and verater.. roller may have got out of place..
you may need to rost the pipe

top speed befor was 25
not sure about the rpms
belt looks new and rollers are in place
the exhaust pipe is a month old (it came from a $40 parts bike that i got)

the flat spots don't seem to be bad at all. and i gain 2mph w/ what i have done

the exhaust is basically new. it has maybe 30 miles on it

yeah i know i'll probably only pick up a couple mph. i'll get a set of gears eventually

Compression check is in order for sure.

It it's good, hsve another look at the air filter. The urethane foam grows pasty with age and stifles air flow even if it looks clean. If it feels "squishy" instead of "springy", there's your problem. The fatter Main Jet sorta makes it worse.
Confirm with a dark spark plug. Replace that while you're at it.
A short ride without filter might reveal a big improvement. Do NOT ride far without a new one.
