94-01 sa50 belt

Post by Mystic »

I ordered a offbrand belt for my stock build to save a few dollars :D instead of 641x15.5x30 it measures 642. Has anyone used this length belt and will it affect performance?

The 642 will be fine. If it was shorter than 641 then you will lose topend.

Greetings:

The Nominal size of these belts seems not to match what you can measure with a tape very well. Actual size is always 5 or more bigger than what's printed on the belt. Some Secret Belt Manufacturer's conspiratorial method of sizing a theoretical "Middle" perhaps is at work. Foul Play of some kind, for sure. Whut Baka-san said.

:D I didnt know if anyone had any direct experience with this size belt. I compared it to the stock belt and the size difference is negligable at best, the only difference I could tell was the how badly my old belt was worn as far as width. I know how fast it goes with a 641 belt I will post any changes if any as soon as the sun starts shining so i can get out there and swap it so i can put my powerlink belt back on the Eve

I hope you didn't buy the belt off of ebay from scrappydog. Those belts suck. They shred apart and seperate at the the seems. Spend the money and get a malossi kevlar or polini belt.

nope I havent heard too much good feedback about that site so I havent ordered from them yet. I got this belt from ophir4u on ebay. The piston and rings i got from him worked fine even though he sells china stuff.

Greetings:

Let me guess: $15 INCLUDING shipping?
I'm with Baka on this. Belts need to be Bando, Malossi or Polini or carry a spare and the tools to install it by the side of the road. Been there. Maybe Gates with a stock setup. The higher performance you have, the more the belt matters.

Just curious, but how did that ophir belt work out for you? I realize it's no bando, but was it an alright belt in general? I'm ridin an 87 spree btw, not that it should make too much of a difference :D.

I dont think the 94-01 elite belt is the same as the belt for a Spree. You can go to the autoparts store and get a Gates belt for around 12 bucks that should work fine Gates 7240 pretty sure OReilly autoparts has them

Thanks for the advice, I'll give that a shot.

Just curious, http://www.ebay.com/itm/180652709015?ss ... 1423.l2649
I'm assuming this is the same seller, but aren't the belts advertised specs matching of the sprees requirements? I am a bit new at this. :D

-Cheers
