Af16 gear cover question
Will the newer 2000 style fit on a 94 block? What needs to be done to make aftermarket gears fit this cover!

Re: Af16 gear cover question
Yes, the cover will fit the block. The aftermarket gears need the same shims as with the '94 cover. You will need the big end axle with the '00 cover.

Yeah i got the bigger end axle. Is it normal for the clutch shaft to be able to slide right out

My experience is the primary shaft should not slide out without at least some light tapping with a mallet.kingkamehameha wrote:Also the primary gear is alot bigger than the older cover style
Should be same primary gear if it is stock af16, maybe it's a gear from af05 that you have? Just a suggestion. Good luck with it.

Re: Af16 gear cover question
No, that should not happen. Measure the shaft and the bearing to see where the size if off. If you let it spin there, it will just lead to problems down the road.kingkamehameha wrote:Yeah i got the bigger end axle. Is it normal for the clutch shaft to be able to slide right out

Re: Af16 gear cover question
The '00 has looks like an aftermarket primary. Good money there. Looks like a 6.5 primary to me but it is hard to tell with the flash.
