cut that broken tab down a little bit,
leaving the bottom part that's connected to the pipe,
construct a replacement piece (size it up and predrill)
and weld it to the part that you left on (and/or the pipe).

Keep a fire extinguisher handy. 2t pipes tend to have flammable left overs inside.

Not really. The angle of the plate has to be perfect

The angle is already there. Just make a template for the hole. Mock up and weld. If you don't want to weld, rivet another plate there. If you change your mind, you just drill the rivets and patch the holes.

If you use rivits use stainless steel ones if you use alloy ones they will work there way loose and that could be the end of your pipe or jug i would use bolts

If you don't have a welder or know someone that can do it for you,use anut and bolts to hold the plate to the exhaust mount. Rivots will come loose from vibration. 1/8th inch steel plate should be fine. Home depot or lowes got them in short strips about 2in wide or 3in wide ones
Nothing like getting stroked!

to get all to line up you need to bolt the pipe on the motor and the peace you made then give it a jue good tacks an both sides let it cool down in place on the motor.. then a fue more tacks on both side ... tack it off the bike and weld it up good .. the better the tack the less it will warp out of shape ..

By any chance,do you still have the broken off piece? That would go a long way to making the template. If not bolt the pipe up in position, carefully brace it up as not to break off the mounting studs. Then you can get a good questamation of the needed dimensions. Then cut a template out of cardboard/paperboard,tape it in place, and see how close.Repeat till it's lookin good.If you know someone that can/will weld it,cool.Remember to bring the welder a "couple of sodas".If not you could drill and bolt(small bolts)it up into place till you can get it welded. That might be a good way to test out the fit.I hope this made some sense.Good luck.Carp
