Honda Goshi pipe GS/ GSV

Post by Dio89Elite »

I have two Honda Goshi exhaust pipes. They both look similar on the outside
but I just recently noticed that there are two different stamps on the end.

Does anyone know the difference between a HM GS and a HM GSV ?

I ran the GS for a little while (about 10 days) and worked quite well,
tested to approx. 45mph (don't have GPS so I'm not verified for 50+ ;))
I thought I had two of the same until I saw the different stamps
so I examined both to see any differences.

The exhaust tips are different. One has an outer covering.
I'll post pics up when I can. (Security settings at work is too strict and won't let me upload photos from my mobile phone  )

The four holes are not factory, just the hole with the nozzle is factory.

I -do- know from working at Honda dealer HM on a Honda part simply stands for "Honda Motors."

"HM" is placed on a part manufactured *for* Honda by an outside contracted company.

The "HM" just signifys the part is made for Honda...

Goshi is a Honda-contracted mfg that makes NUMEROUS Honda parts... Not just mufflers - Goshi makes everything... They do make a LOT of exhaust systems for Honda vehicles.
(Goshi Giken)

"Sankei" is another mfg that makes exhaust systems for Honda; Spree and Aero 50 mufflers are made by Sankei...
(Sankei Giken Koygo)

The "GS" / "GS7" is the Honda *Product Code* for the SA50P and SA50 Elite scooters.

I can see from this and other recent threads we need an aftermarket exhaust wiki topic - thanks all,
