So i changed the gearson my stock elite sr to a 9.8 and after putting it back together i realized that i did not put ack on the plastic washer that goes behind the smaller gear. is this an issue? do i need to pull it all part and put it back ??? what does it do????

It stops the gear from chewing up the aluminum gear case....put it in there

If you swapped to aftermarket gears, it may not fit. I use the thinner metal washer on both sides to avoid binding. Take your own measurements to be sure.

I used the plastic washer, but I sanded it down to the thickness of the thin metal one.
