Well considering that I am using an OEM part and the issue was resolved by using a non standard clamp, I'd say my ghetto rigging was quite successful. The flex in most old rubber tubing is lacking much of the time. I thought his solution was a good one, provided he ensures an absolute seal. And yes, I have seen a bit of part pushing on this site, rather than encouragement for trying to find new ways to solve a problem on an old scoot. Its like dealing with the "Emily" table in middle school with some of you guys.

I guess we have different views of parts pushing. Why not replace with OEM if another member has the part and would probably just give it to you. Instead you want to call someone out...come on Emily! JK

Some parts came in the mail so put them on.

Here is the engine fan.

Put on the air filter and carb to air filter hose.

Only question I have now is what size bolts do I need to put the fan cover on?
Also I picked up a parts scooter and it had air box lid.

is that liquid gasket on your exhust?? i would recomend getting the stock gasket from you dealer they are cheap and something the gets that hot is risky to use anything else on.

Use short bolts Metric 6mm IIRC

Does your parts bike have the fan shroud? you will need one of those too.

Yes it is that is just how it came when I bought it. The parts scooter I bought should have the gasket. Thanks for reminding me about that, good eye.

Thanks for the info on the bolt size. I don't think the other scooter has a fan shroud but that looks like something I could make. What material is it made out of?

Availability of shrouds is pretty easy and surely not very expensive, not that I have priced them. I would not have looked at the shrouds and thought, "gee, i can make those", but if you are equipped for such a task, then you might save $10 or $20... :hi:
