Post by dcalderflynn »

First, what "scooter"?

Second, does it die slowly or immediately?

It just doesnt turn over when you try and start it. Leaving it for a few minutes usually helps but....

turn over or just wont fire. there is a difference here. not turning over means the engine is not spinning, wont fire means that enigne is spinning but wont start. if you think it is flooding then check your float and clean the carb up. maybe you are sucking the bowl completely dry and the petcock is partially plugged. if it does just stop completely not just slowly dieing could it be electrical? like naybe a loose wire at the kill switch, and maybe repeated pushing or kicking moves it just enough to start. just throwing stuff your way.

Can someone tell me exactly what flooding is,FLOODING=exessive fuel inside the cylinder how it happens Happens when the float needle is not sealing off the fuel inlet at the proper float-bowl level and what can be done to fix it? Cleaning, inspection, and/or replacement of damaged float, needle, or seat, depending on the findings of the inspection.
thanks
The symptom you describe can be caused be a list of different problems. It is fun for me(and many members here) to try and help with diagnosing the ailments of far-away scooters. If you can be patient and thorough with information, the task of discovering and repairing the problem should go very well.... :urban:

Sounds like a soft seize to me. Is the air filter and air box in place?
