Spree Headlight Help!

Post by SpreeWilly »

I just bought a 1984 Honda Spree about a week ago, and man am I having a blast! It runs pretty good, seems to be all stock, well maintained, and getting 29-30mph. I'll be taking it to a local shop for a tune up anyways just to be safe.

My headlight, however, is probably original and needs some TLC. Low/High beams work, but are aimed way too high and are way too dim (I'm practically driving with just the city street lamps). I know I have to order the entire lightbulb assembly from ebay or Honda, but I thought I'd inquire if anybody had a better solution or any advice. I need more light!

Also, does anyone have any instructions and/or advice on how to get the light off? I browsed through the service and owners manuals and didn't find much on the headlight. I consider myself technically savvy, but I'm a Spree noob!

I'm all ears!
Thanks!

You have to take the plastic off the headset to get to the headlight. The headlights on these things leaves something to be desired. If you are handy then you might consider modifying the headlight to accept newer, stronger bulbs but then you may have to run a ballast to the battery for the extra power a brighter headlight will require. Do a search plenty of people have modified the headlight housing and installed newer bulbs

Once the plastic is off the headlight is adjustable for aim like any other head light.
