I don't hear mention specifically of the idle jet... it won't idle with this plugged... and it's always plugged.
You might want to read this, it could be of help

With such a small swept volume these engines displace, it can be difficult to get an acurate reading with most compression testers which are designed much larger engines. Due to the volume of the hose, adapter and gauge result in low readings
The rule of thumb that I have used for decades, is just that, A rule of "thumb".
Basicly, I place my thumb firmly over the plug hole and with the throttle held open and using the electric starter, There should be enough compression to "pop" your thumb off the hole.
Not very sicentific, but it works for me

You are a total moron, you don't know crap about being a mechanic, especially 2 stocks.
30 PSI will blow you finger off the spark plug hole and no 2 stroke will ever run with that low of compression.

Sentence 2 would have been adequate, Bear.

Gee, I don't know how I have lived 60 years, 40 years working as a mechanic, without anyone ever calling me stupid and have managed to have at least two folks here doing so now.
I guess that serves me for trying to help.
Really, just a swell group here.
I guess I'll just move on.

"You meet the nicest people on a Honda".
Yeah, right

He's right though that's what many ppl forget he isn't the nicest about its good info ur thumb won't tell u if its 50 70 100 it a good way to check if u have rings..... My comment was not directed towards you it was a general statement towards others that are know it alls not meaning anyone in this thread.... But without the throttle open the test he did is invalid
