Yes, remove the jet. then, place a small wooden or soft pusher into the top where the cable connects. Push until it comes out. Do not use metal.

Re: removing tube in carb
not that tube, the one that extends from bottom of carb body into flat bowl.(pilot circuit?)it has a micro hole one can poke a guitar string through.
Re: removing tube in carb
Heat the carb body with a heat gun and then pull the tube out with pliers. Drop a drill bit or thin nail down the idle tube to keep it from being crushed by the tool.

Not a good idea. Read and watch how to clean the carberator in Wikispreedia. You may damage more than you fix.

That tube is only the overflow!
Take the float out and let the carb fill to see if fuel comes out the vent.
Simple as that

A guitar string will not fit.jmcginn68 wrote:not that tube, the one that extends from bottom of carb body into flat bowl.(pilot circuit?)it has a micro hole one can poke a guitar string through.
Do not remove this jet. You will end up trashing the carb. Use a sewing needle to clear it if needed but take care not to enlarge the jet in the process.
