86 Honda Spree Won't Start

Post by naveen93 »

I bought a beautiful 86 honda spree about three weeks ago, rode the thing around all weekend. Then I left it sitting for 3 weeks and on accident left the knob on "run" instead of "off" and now I can't kick start it. It has fresh gas and plenty of oil, any thoughts on why it's not turning over? It sounds like it wants too but doesn't make that wonderful spree sounds we know and love!

Thanks!

Okay I got it to start, but I had to get it rolling and kick start it? I'm thinking about doing a compression test and changing the spark plug for good habit.

I never shut mine off except for at the key. It really makes no difference.

The stop/run switch is for emergency stopping, use the key to shut it off or you could end up with a dead battery from the key being left on.

or you can forget the kill switch was used and screw around trying to get it to start with the switch off... been there done that.
