Double Stutter?

Hey guys, mind if I set up a scenario for you and maybe you can help diagnose.

Going down a decent hill and hitting about 34mph. As I level out I hit the throttle again despite going a bit faster that the engine can do on flat ground. There is a odd stutter where the engine sounds like it's doubling in cranks along with what seems like a break in power. Recently this happened after a cold start and that worked its way out as the ped warmed.

Was a bit low on oil, just refilled, and am rocking a crappy gates 7240 belt which will be replaced soon.

Any thoughts though guys?

I has been starting to do this more on flat ground right after a cold start.

Carb

The carb was still in enrich mode because the bystarter had not fully closed.

The rich condition may have caused the fourstroking sound you heard.

hmmm so you thinkin a carb cleanin in general or should I be gettin out the ol multimeter and checking the bystarter? Also I seem to remember veiwing a thread awhile ago about someone's bystarter getting stuck when trying to close. He seemed to have success by smoothing the insert pin of the bystarter, would this have any bearing.

Be careful on long downhills... engine gets starved of oil during this and can overheat.

Is there any sort of fix to this? Or is this some sort of feed related issue regarding the angle the scooter is pointing.

The hill forces the motor to rev higher then the fuel system is setup for....

+1 if your going to be running it at high rpms down hill id throw some oil in the tank just to be safe. Along with a hotter plug. i belive an 8 is good what is use anyways...

Neither. This behavior is normal. Either feather the throttle or wait for it to warm up.

Sounds good, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't running the risk of a lean seize or something.
