hi, im new to this site but i've had a honda since 98 , i got it brand new from local honda san dealer, any way i thought i had this all figured out and cant seem to understand what ive done wrong.
help if you can , thanks.

i have 2 hondas one a 98 in good condition the 2nd a 2001 all beat to *. got the 98 when i was 15 before i could drive, drove it a year or 2 and then the battery died and it stoped runing i put it in my parents garage and forgot about it , till this summer poking around in my parents garage , pulled it out put 1/8 can seafoam , cleaned carb, pulled spark plug put newand then it fired right up like when new. problem was at new it only went 25 mhp max down hill, people have said it should have gone 30 stock what do you guys think?

any way a month after that i found your guys kick * site . so i bored out muffler restriction, up jetted carb from 68 to 82, took out restictor plate in crank case, i even dremeled the rollers plate so they wouldnt sqare , in the carb i moved the needle clip so it was all the way down. think this makes it rich, i tied open oil pump,

i did all this it was going allmost 40mph for couple days then slowed down to 35, its a mounth later it goes 31 all the time now , i'm happy it gose faster than 25 but it would be nice to get close to 40mph again , any help would be grate.

i was thinking about a big bore i've seen kits with the block are they crap to use on say 60cc or 80cc , can you just slap that block in with no boring becouse thats #@cking cool if thats how they work i tore up head on 2001 with an aluminum washer and just got new head and rings this is so much fun who would have known.

the oil pump is regulated by throtle position by tying itopen you are dumping largamounts of oil into the exhaust wich will clog it again also check and see that youre rollers do not have flat spots on them if so replacebut droping speed like that sound like arollre issue

go to Honda Service and Owners Manuals on here and down low the Manual first .. if you spark plug is getting bad you will lose speed so get a new one ..

check the rollers for flat spots and measure the belt for wear, specs in the manual. do a compression test if you think it's motor related.

Greetings:

All of the above plus consider that oil could be fouling the exhaust itself. This would explain a gradual deterioration in power and top speed. Upgrade time!!

A new belt is a must I'm sure the belt on it is stock the rollers might be worn and as far a bbk the 66 is a great kit bolt on and u can use stock carb and exhaust
