Petcock
Took my petcock off today to check it and the filter and found a small hole in the filter. My question is do the non honda petcocks which come with the filter included work properly? I have had a look at them and there does not seem to be a vacum pipe on them like the genuine honda ones? I can probably get a new filter but they are about £25 or $35 fo the filter alone and if the other petcocks are ok I may as well swop the whole lot.
Thanks Danny.
Thanks Danny.

Re: Petcock
Hi Mate,
Thanks for the offer but I'm in the UK and the postage would be more than what I can get one for here. However your picture is very useful. On mine there is a thin metal pipe which the filter slides on to and then a clip and a little air filter goes on the top. From your picture there isn't one? Do I take it from this that that bit is not required?
Cheers

Hmm not sure on that one. This is the only petcock I've pulled I guess. Never been inside my aeros tank.
Manual pic but I can't tell.

Have a look at the petcock on the link above. It exactly the same as the schematic pic you posted except you can see the pipe I describe. However if the one in your pic works which it will it will explain why all the new ones I can buy dont have the pipe.

Re: Petcock
Wouldn't still happen to have this do you? Will it fit my '85 nb50m? I keep getting ones that have the threads too large. I think they're for sprees. Thankscurtis966 wrote:I've got a nice working petcock and filter in good condition if your interested. Off a 87 aero 50.

Petcock threads are 14 x 100mm
I once had an '85 Aero with a bad petcock... it is not typical as you know. I gave up and bypassed it - just me - worked out fine off the float in the carb bowl.
Best Regards.

I'm more than happy to explain it to you. I'll even draw you a picture! But I can't understand it for you.

Re: Petcock
Greetings:
For reasons known only to Honda-san, the petcock sizes got bigger in 1986-later. An'87 petcock won't fit an '85 tank..
