Help identifying the exact model of my Honda Dio

Hi, I am new here and found your site from google. I need some help to identify the model of my Honda Dio.

I purchased it 2nd hand here in Georgia (country not US state). It is a Honda Dio SR 50 (maybe 10+ years old) but as I read from various sites there are at least 2 versions of this the '27' and the '55' ??

From this site (http://www.motorscooterguide.net/Honda/Dio/Dio.html) it says "the AF16E is a 'vertical' motor which means the cylinder is located on top of the engine and it occupies much of the space under the seat, so there is no underseat storage in the Dio." - Well I DO have a lot of space under the seat so means I have an AF18E engine?

What I dont know is if I have an AF18E engine then does that mean I have a '27' or '55' model? Or what is the easiest way for me to find out?

If there is any more information you need from me to work this out then please let me know and will try and work it out.

Look at the case all the way in the back by the tire. There should be a serial number stamped on the gear cover or by it on the left side should give you your answer. Stamp will read, for example, AF16Exxxxxx, where the x's are numbers that won't mean anything in your quest to identify.

look at the vin plate or sticker on the frame. or post a picture of your bike

Thanks for replying... its freezing (and dark) here now so will try and check the chassis number in the morning but here are some pics of it :









I think it is more likely to be one of the asian models as im in the Georgia just south of Russia.

The reason im asking is the bike has a problem starting and then staying started. Im in a difficult situation here as I cant speak Georgian so my friend here is helping me translate. The garage has asked me whether it is a 27 or 55 version of the Dio. Im not quite sure how that links with being either AF16 or AF18 ??

From this page on your site http://hondaspree.net/wiki/index.php5?t ... ooters_A-Z it looks like mine could be either a Super Dio ZX AF28 or a Dio AF18 (more likely as i have the back shelf behind seat similar).

I will post tomorrow once I get a chance to look at the code written on the bike but if you can tell me if you know what a '27' or '55' model refers to that would be good !!!
