Spree revs out on start up

So I just rebuilt a 1985 spree new rings and piston and put everything back together went to fire it up and she roared..... Except it just revs out! So I killed it and re adjusted the carb and it did the same thing....so then I thought it was in my throttle cable ...nothing looked out of the norm and it did it again....could it be my carb? Did I do something wrong?? Any help is appreciated thanks

Pull the hose off of the carb and look in at the slide operation. If you diddnt pull the slide already, pull it and put it back in, it could be jammed up but look fine. When you are setting the idle speed make sure to blip the throttle so the screw doesn't jam the slide up. How did you tune the carb, to manual spec? Double check the air box as well. Air filter condition ?
