did i F up my bearing putting it back in?

Post by mmeadows »

how can you tell if you broke your bearing? i heated up my case fire hot and froze my bearings for two days. i lubed them up and tapped them in. one went in easy the other was a little harder. now ( the more difficult bearing) doesnt spin like it use to. all the posts ive read involve tapping in a bearing and the virgin cases being "tighter" :bowrofl:

i used a 32mm socket to tap it in. do i need to buy bearings again and wait forever?!?!?!

is it just lack of lube?

would a video help?

a tight case wont cause the bearing not to spin. did you install just the bearing? or is the bearing on the crank and installed it on the crank?

jacknbs its not that i think you are wrong, i very much apricate your help. sometime its hard to understand what you are trying to say.

you are using terms that are not meant for a noob like me. i dont know what an inner or outer race are. to me race is something where you compete by going fast, or it is the color of your skin. i dont see anything in my motor case that looks like a race.

i dont know that this fourm has ever seen a spun bearing, and i really hope its not that or else i will need an entirely new case.

i know nothing about scooters and i have very experience people giving me completly opposite information and eveyone is telling me that the other person is going to break my s***.

jack, i know you think eveything in this picture is wrong ( this might also explain why it is not working) and i might be putting my foot in my mouth but lets see if anyone else can chime in.

to eveyone who convinced me into buying a tusk puller: what is wrong in this picture? the steel rods are bending for gods sake and i cant tighten the nut anymore. my next step is the impact gun in the back ground but i need to buy a 26mm socket

least the case is clean :)

jacknbs wrote:I read you post. Yea and then I read it and understood it. IÔÇÖm not stupid.
I donÔÇÖt understand
IÔÇÖve gave you directions. you follow baka, then ask me for advice? on a random idea? and expect me to grab your thouhgt and topic away immediately? that that picture, to me was supposed to of been a question of whether the fully inserted crank is fully inserted or not.

? how can you not understand that? and it wasnt my advice. quit looking at me

I donÔÇÖt think you are stupid. ItÔÇÖs possible that I am however. I appreciate your advice and IÔÇÖm not trying to upset you. Thank you for your help so far.

mouse please donÔÇÖt suspend anyone from one of my post over small stuff, IÔÇÖm sure you know how I feel about it after my other postings, I think youÔÇÖre a pretty tight moderator, I mean you donÔÇÖt have the vernaculars of wheelman but who else does? While this posting has your attention care to chime in on ideas?

bakaracer wrote:if it wonÔÇÖt tighten then its good. Once the crank bottoms out on the bearing its good. there will be a gap between the case and the crank weight about 1/8th of an inch gap.put oil on the shaft where the bearing is going to slide on do it goes on easier.

let me go try this right now....
