blinker/tail light problem

Got the Spree out after about a year in storage. Only problem is when I turn on the signal, the tail light flashes too . . . any idea what the problem is? It worked perfectly before storage.

All of the power wires are in one bundle maybe the tailight wire is touching the signal light wire

It's an odd problem the poster has. When blinkers are on the tail light flashes. With the blinker off, tail light is assumed normal.

If there is a short of the taillight wire to a signal wire, the tail light would stay on, and the blinker would be on.

With the scooter in storage for a year, it's generally bad news for the lead acid battery condition. If the battery is depleted or damaged, it's possible the tail light goes dim when the blinkers turn on. When the blinkers turn off, the tail light may go to original brightness.

Usually, the battery will not even flash the signals

Lol that makes sense. the tail light goes dim when the signal light lights from the voltage drop. My express does that sometimes when the battery is down. The tail light dims on the off beats Mouse you rocked that one B-)

My bet is that it's a bad ground. After a year in storage anything can happen.

Yes the regulator where it grounds to the frame would be a good place to start, my spree headlight will be more dim at idle when the ground to the frame is bad
