unhook cable for the top of the carb?????

is there a way to unhook the cable form the top peace of the carb????

Doo you mean disconnect the throttle cable from the slide in the carb?

he wants to remove th stock carb cap from the throttle cable so. he can use the stock cable with an aftermarket carb

No worries :-). Just compress the spring just below the carb cap and above the slide and the end of the cable will pop out of the bottom of the slide then the whole cable will come out of the cap. For a lot of aftermarket carbs the stock cable has to modified to work. I did it on my express. Its a little tedious but can be done, just have to grind the shield of the cable to shorten it to have the cable reach into the carb enough to have the slide open and close all the way. You have to be super careful not to nick the cable in the process. A cutoff wheel in the dremel is the best way, grid away a the the shield untill you break through, do it for the length to be removed so the little pieces will come off the cable
