hi forum. The finish build is on page 3.

This is what I'm looking to do. have a spree front end forks, elite 94& up front wheel, and front brakes hub form a metro. for Bigger Brakes on the spree. thanks.

Greetings:

I had the same thought. The Metro hub uses a regular telescopic fork's locating bosses, which the Spree fork also uses. If the little nub on the left fork leg engages those on the hub, that's half the battle. However the fit may be difficult because of the narrower Spree front end. Almost for sure the spacer(s) will need adjustment if the assembled wheel/hub can fit at all. Also consider axle diameters - they may be different.

I just wanted to put bigger brakes on my spree forks. I think with a thinner tire elite wheel may work? your saying I have to make it fit. I can drill the forks for the axle. as for the fork bosses that was the question? and, I was not sure which wheel with bigger brakes will fit the spree forks? I'm sure someone has try this combo? when I get the elite wheel I will post the results. thanks.

Greetings:

If somebody's ever tried this, I don't recall reading about it. Pretty sure it can be done, but without experience can't be sure.

Run the Elite 1994-2001 rim and a 2.75 or 3.00 tire to avoid fender clearance issues. Riskier is the wider, Tubeless Met rim that needs a 90/90 skin. Both share the 95mm drum diameter and are a welcome upgrade for a Spree going 1.5 times faster than Honda-san ordained.

The metro axels are wider than an Aero/Elite, so unless Sprees are also wider (doubtful) this won't work without modding the hub.

hi forum. here is the photo of the spree forks, elite wheel, and metro hub. it is very close but I think it may work. the shaft from elite and metro have the same width. the metro hub fit the elite wheel. the only mods I may have to do is cut the metro hub about a 1/4 inch. the brake boss has more room to go in. the thinner tire is a 2.50x10. but a 2.75x10 looks like it will work. as you can see I only have about 3/4 inch to work with for both sides. I will need a straight wheel. CAUTION this mod is NOT for everyone. if you want bigger front brakes on your spree. go with the metro front end forks, and wheel swap. you may have to cut into your fairing so they can turn.

:nervous: CAUTION this mod is NOT for everyone. If you don't feel comfortable with front wheel, 1/4 inch away from the forks. this is NOT FOR YOU.
I'm just checking if the parts fit.

this looks like it will work. also if I notch the forks a little with a press? who knows? I may just get a metro front end. cut my fender and shield. :(

Thanks for doing this and pics :hi:

Does the speedometer work? Wheel rotation is now backwards from its Metro location.

Have you ever bought from anyone here?
Ebay also gives you the money back on an item you say is not as described.
Go buy a new one and save yourself all the grief.
