Spree Starting Issues

My 1984 Honda spree runs great when it decides to start. It is very inconsistent with its start. I'll ride it for a few miles then put it in my garage and an hour later i will go out and the engine almost turns over but doesn't. Yesterday I had to push it home from a friends house because of this issue. If anyone knows how to fix this it would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
