BBK Tuning Help

Hey guys, I had this all broken in last year but never got around to properly tuning it and now I need some help. Here is my set-up:

1994 Elite S
Cast Malossi 72cc BBK
24mm Polini PWK Carb (stock jetting 105/45?)
Polini Pod Filter w/o rain cover
Naraku Variator w/stock Naraku Weights
PG Short Pipe
Malossi Fly 3 Shoe Clutch
Malossi Belt
Yellow Contra
Metro Wheels
9:1 Gears

Everything runs awesome and I hit right about 60mph but I am a little sluggish of the line until about 7mph then it blasts and sometimes when running full throttle it bogs out a little and I need to let off the gas for a second. I have not adjusted anything on the carb at all if that makes a difference. I do have a brand new set of jets I bought from g9 that I have not touched but I do not have any different roller weights than the stock Naraku (whatever weight they actually are). Any idea what direction I should go to start tuning this...jet change, carb adjustment, different rollers? Thanks!

get some rollers you will need them. I have a very similar set up. sounds like your a bit rich on your main. im a bit lean at 104 and will be upping to 106main and a 35pilot(stock) and should be about right. sounds like you will need to change rollers to cure your slow start. not sure what the stock weights the naraku comes with. but you will need to play with them to find the right set up.(something I have yet to achieve) and this will be trial and error. good luck

I would go a little lighter on the rollers and jet down a touch.

Malossi 2 shoe?
Are you sure you're using a polini cp style or pwk style? Stock the pwk comes with a 35 pilot and 100. I think the cp comes with 32 and 105. I forget. Either way the jets style are different between the two.
How's the plug chops looking?

As for your first 7 feet of slow scooting I would suggest increasing the rpm in which ur clutch grabs. Im not familiar with a two shoe malossi clutch, so I dont know if thats compressing the springs or tightening them.

My setup is close to yours , here's my current setup..

Cast Malossi 72cc BBK
24mm polini
108/42 jetting
1.5 Turns out on a/f screw
37.8 g roller Total
8:44 gears...
V8 pipe
Blue Polini Contra/center Spring
Swapped out the 1000-rpm Gunmetal clutch springs with the 3000-rpm yellow springs.
Love the Change in take off, half throttle it wants to Start to wheelie..
And still pulls to 60+ mph without a problem...After about 30-min & pull to about 60-mph the max temp Reading was 370....not sure yet on RPM's , still have to hook up the new Trail tech gauge..

Sorry, couple mistakes, I corrected them up top. Its a 3 shoe Malossi Fly clutch and a 24mm Polini PWK which after a little more research I believe is 105/45. Plug chops are looking pretty good and my temps are good as well.

My 26mm came factory with 105/45 jetting, I'm pretty sure my 24mm is 100 and 35. I could be wrong as I never used my 24mm polini pwk yet just my 26, but i did swap jets to 40 and 112 in the 24 and 50/128 in the 26.

With an oko 24mm I was running a 38 and 125 on a ported corsa, 38/122 non ported corsa both with a well ported and matched block. I've been told the polini built 24mm will be able to run leaner jets on the same cylinder.
I figure a 45 pilot would be too fat but if it works it works since plug chops and Temps are ideal.

So it turns out that the 24mm PWK has a 105 main, I dropped down to a 102 and it bogged more at full throttle, I actually went up to a 108 and no more bog, that will probably lower my temps as well! Just ordered new rollers from G9 today as well, hopefully those will help too.

So just for anyone else who is tuning the same set-up...today I installed 5.5 gram rollers which actually weighed 36 grams instead of the 33 grams they should have been. Low end was amazing and some how my top end crept up 59.1mph which is 3mph above where I was with 42 grams. So right now im pretty happy with the setup!
