I broke my kick start cover

Post by needmoreinfo »

94 Elite I was putting the cover back on and when I tightened it a piece of it flew off. https://imgur.com/wvxepuI

Now it's all jacked up won't start. Electric start is broken. I guess I need a new cover.

Update I think it was because I replaced the variator with a polini and the center cylinder piece is longer. I swapped the stock back and may be OK. Not sure if I need a new cover still.

That's a new one. Yes, it's b/c your variator was too wide.

Personally, I'd clean it well, tape the back, putty up the show surface with putty epoxy, sand it flat and repaint. Will hold up a long time that way... until you can find another, anyway.
