Hey you sages of Spree. Does anyone have any experience with the Niche piston and cylinder kits they sell on ebay? Stock replacement. Comes with gaskets and seems like the price is right but could be too good to be true?

Thanks for the advice. I was really just asking because the outside of the cylinder is rusty and looks like s***. Inside is tip top though.

unless you get a Taz kit dont bother with any other aftermarket kits. I have even tried one of the cheap kits, it diddnt work worth crap. the base gasket wasnt even a proper gasket.

Probably wants oil pump and ease of just filling up at the pump. Best replacement stock bore is to scrub the rust off with a steel scrub brush, paint the cylinder fins black, reinstall with a fresh hone, piston and top end wrist pin and bearing. Make sure you have no airleaks and you should be golden for years of riding.

I'm still new to working on these little engines. I'd like to become proficient in working on the spree as just bare bones stock as can be. I'm sure the more that I learn, the mods will look more appealing to me.

Outside rust is not a good reason to pitch a stock Honda bore. Use a steel wire brush to brush off outside and paint with BBQ paint if it really bothers you. Aside from cleaning, I've never touched the outside of a cylinder.

Already cleaning that little sucker up. I am shocked at the lack of good aftermarket stock replacement parts for the spree considering how bad a** these little scooters are
