WAs so close

Post by edoggdoremus »

I replaced my cylinder and piston (both were badly scored before), new rings, and i got it to fire up. It was fine in idle, but i gave it a little gas and it made a load screaching sound. I quickly turned off the engine. The muffler was pretty hot after being on for such a little time. I'm guessing it's completely overheating from friction in the cylinder? I oiled the cylinder piston and rings quite well before i installed them. any ideas what to do now?

wow....... nevermind.........In my lack of patience to see if my spree worked, i left the fan cover halfway hanging on one screw.........it was rubbing against the fan.

Anyways i took it for it's first ride around the block in 9 months. It was glorious....
