AF27 Dio oil tank as fuel tank?

Hey,

I have converted my AF27 Dio to premix. I am now thinking about deleting the fuel tank and instead using the existing oil tank (behind seat) as a fuel tank.

It seems like a pretty solid plastic tank, just wondering how it would hold up to having fuel stored in it? has anyone done this? Couldn't find anything related after a quick forum search.

Cheers

Greetings:

I did this on my SA50 Elite. The rubber fitting attached to the oil tank eventually deteriorated and leaked, gradually worsening over time. Plus you only get about a quart of capacity, at least on the SA model.

Cool, so sounds like the actual oil tank is fine just need to make sure the fuel line fittings are up to the task :)

Greetings:

Yes, polyethylene tanks will hold gasoline indefinitely - all the snowmobiles I've owned had 'em. Also my fuel cans are made of the stuff.
