Honda Spree and Elite 50 Forums

Hi,

I’m a UK member and I’m currently refurbishing a Honda ion mini nt5O that I understand is a Honda spree n50 for the American release.

I have a standard front end steering setup and the current tyre size is 2.50-10, I would like to install some whitewall tyres but unfortunately the smallest size I can find is 3.00-10. Can anyone advise me on the problems (if any) of moving to the 3.00 size?

You comments would be helpful before I invest in the tyres.

3.00 will slow down take off a lot with out a variator. and other than a spacer between the front pulley halves, and a wider little longer belt, to hopefully get it higher on the rear pulley, you don't have many choices for replacing that low end torque for take off. maybe stiffer clutch springs, or a big bore kit, but I hear those are troublesome and poorly made.
or swap it out for a variated motor?
