I recently purchased a 83 Aero 50 in okay shape. It was missing front blinkers and the back blinkers would light up but not flash. I went and replaced the turn signal relay with this cheap relay (https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b/no ... l552&pos=0).
Installed it and the blinkers flashed like they should. I also purchased these cheap LED lights to add as front blinkers (https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b/le ... 12ak&pos=0).
When I was hooking up the new blinkers I believe I crossed a wire which seemed to have fried the new relay. Worse though is not the starter doesn't work. It was working before and the battery is brand new. It kick starts fine but am ticked now that it seems to be a starter issue.
I finished up wiring the blinkers and now they light up as they should (minus flashing until I get another relay).
First question - is this relay an okay substitute? Or should I spring for the $12-13 heavier duty one (now that I blew the first one)?
Second question - are the blinkers an okay option?
Third question - could a simple crossed wire for a turn signal fry my starter?
Thank you in advance for your help!

check your fuse that comes off the battery. also make sure you pull the brake handle and the brake tight comes on. if the brake switch is bad the starter wont work.
