if you can see it , its half a Mountain Dew bottle and some nylon

i made it by cutting a pop bottle in half then duck taping it right to the carb. then i put zip-ties to both sides to hold it all together
then put 2 layers of nylon over the cut off half of the bottle and used a rubber band at the front of the hole thing to hold the nylon on

it keeps sand and dirt out and lets it get alot of air but will this be ok? it seem to do fine and worked better then the stock one. i just want to know what you all think of it and if you have any ideas of a better "Home Made" one.

just let me know what you think.

yeah im a red-neck but what i build works
on this one it will take as much air as i can give it. so making this one is nothing but the one i made for my jog was way harder. my jog had to have not to less air but if it got to much it bogged
this was the one on my jog

it was a monster drink can with carpet padding (wraped in a bug net so none would get lose and go in the motor) on the inside and holes alround the bottom zip-tie'd on it

this was my old moped (its fried now)

It will probably be fine. An actual filter element would be better, but the shape of the bottle is about right...

Whooly shizz! That's a sweet mod, bet you'd get more power out of a Blatz 40oz.

Might wanna squirt some filter oil on der, only way to keep the dust out.

i would get a k&n filter since it would work better and not be ghetto.

But that should work alright, keeping big stuff out at least

For dust and sand you wanna add some oiled filtering material inside it or something other than just the nylon. Thats usually how 2-stage filters work, they have something like your filter for a primary filter to get rid of large particles, and then they have a finer material that has something on it that attracts dust and dirt particles like oil.
