Hey guys, first post here. I recently acquired a 1985 Honda spree and I'm going through it to get it in good working shape.

I already broke the bulb out of the headlight housing and I'm looking for a replacement. I know it is supposed to be a sealed system. The bulb is a 12 volt 25 watt, when I went to the auto parts store they had a 12 volt 65 watt that they sold me. After reading I feel like it may be a bad idea to put something that many watts more than the 25 that is intended.

Do you have any recommendations on a replacement bulb for this? Thanks for your time and glad to be here.

Edit: the bulb I got is a 9003 h4 basic Sylvania 12 volt 55/60 watt

Theres a thread on here about LED conversions. It involves cutting the bulb out of the sealed OEM headlight assembly and replacing it with said LED. The thread had instructions, part numbers, required wiring changes, etc…it not only gives much better night vision but allows you to turn on/off the headlight manually with an added rocker switch. Search for it, Im sure you’ll dig it up with some good digging.

Maybe I'm a bit slow. I searched for 20 minutes and couldn't find it.

As a side question, do you see any issue with me putting in the 55/60 watt bulb? I'm just concerned with the wiring overheating.

Here's a link to HID Conversion with pictures. Not sure if this is what you're looking for FoS.

Still looking for LED conversion myself.

Thanks for the link! I ended up buying an led bulb, 22 watt.

Then, I have the plug for it that I'll wire into to the scooter headlight.

Hopefully it works. I'm not too electrically savvy. Just wanted to get a bulb 25 watts or less that would fit.
