1997 honda 50, engine model?

Anyone know what engine is in the 1997 honda elite SR50? It's all original.

I believe it is an AF16 based on my research.
Also, my VIN start with 3H1AF16
Not sure if there engine is any correlations to part of the VIN.

Yes Mr. ehaughn, the year and VIN both indicate the bike has AF16 engine.
To further confirm it is correct, you will find a number stamped on the tail of the engine case.
Small rectangular boss with number stamped will include "AF16" in that number.
