Honda Squash Carburetor Setup

Post by mrsquash »

Hi all,

I'm currently restoring a Honda Squash, same engine as a Honda Melody and a few others.

Can anyone tell me what this part is?
I'm guessing some sort of filter?
It joins two hoses, one from the crankcase and one from the carb.

Mine is missing unfortunately so I'm hoping I can somehow make something similar out of an inline fuel filter.

Any help greatly appreciated, I'll post some pics of the Squash when it's done.

Sure, I'll take a stab at it...that is an "air filter".
The cold-start enrichment system (choke) you see on this example is used also on Aero 80 and Urban Express.
In those applications, there is a similar item that filters the air being used to feed the "choke".
It is nothing more than a plastic container with a piece of filter foam inside.
